I first caught wind of N.I.F.T.Y. when I peeped his video "Heavy Laden". I loved his delivery (because he came with that east coast vibe), the production of the song and the sharp skills he brought to the table. In this day and time being a rapper is like the new hoop dream. Especially in Christian Hip Hop some artists think that because they're making music for God's glory that the average listener will disregard the fact that they're wack. So when you come across cats like N.I.F.T.Y. you almost want to take a breath for fresh air because it's been a minute since I've randomly come across an artist that made me stay on their myspace page and listen to every track on their page. If homey continues to stay on his grind he'll definitely make noise in '09. So check out his myspace page and show some love. If Obama can go overseas to try and make piece then let's show some love to our brothas and sistas that's out of the country and on the same mission as we are. Although Philly is deemed the mecca of Christian Hip Hop it's good to see artists from other countries reppin' Christ through this art form we love called hip hop. This week I want to bring your attention to a dope emcee named N.I.F.T.Y. (Nubian Intelligence From The Yahweh) reppin' T Dot, Toronta, Canada. It seems like more and more people are sproutin' up on the international scene. When you got artists like Dwayne Tryumph, Green Jade and my man N.I.F.T.Y. doing their part in their native countries along the side of artists in the U.S. makin' noise then it's only a matter of time before we start healing the negative black eye hip hop has been wearing for several years now.
