Founded by Octavia Harris, who I would say is the RZA or mastermind behind this compilation of dope emcees, started making noise about a year ago when her and her virtuous warriors which are Cameron Joy, Regal, Latoria, ELLE Roc & Serenity dropped the bangin' mixtape, CFRN Chronicles with mixes done by DJ I Rock Jesus. The thing I love about this group is that they're all from different parts of the country but when they're in the booth together it's like they all came from the same high school and been rapping together since bangin' their fist on the cafeteria tables. They mesh so well and they all bring their various styles to the table. You have Octavia Harris reppin' Portland, you have Elle R.O.C coming out of the A.T.L., Latoria bringin' that Dallas heat, Cameron Joy reppin' the Midwest coming out of Cincinnati, Regal coming from Maryland and Serenity reppin' the tropical Somerset, Bermuda. To me Octavia is a representation of Jesus when he picked the 12 disciples. Jesus didn't hand pick just any old Tom, Dick and Harry. He was led by his father God on who to pick to rep his name after he was gone. If you know anything about the 12 disciples you know they had real human issues and probably would've been picked last if it was up to us. But God saw something different than what our natural eyes could see and in the end these disciples are still talked about to this day. When picking her crew, Octavia probably knew some of the weakness' her homegirls had but she still saw something in them that could be a major contribution to this group and pool of female talent she was forming. The “CFRN Chronicles” mixtape is well rounded and can be bumped on various occasions. If you're going through something and just need to hear someone’s testimony on how they overcame then you can bump track 4 where LaToria and Cameron share their testimony on how Jesus delivered them from their own personal bondages. If you're ridin' through your hood or your city and you're just in a laid by type of vibe then put on track 6 called “Heart Condition” where Elle R.O.C. and Cameron murder the laid back beat with their smooth flow. The track I personally use to get the party jumpin' is track 7 called “Get There” where Elle R.O.C. takes you on a lyrical tour of her life while at the same time has you bouncin' in your seat to the fast paced beat. I know it sounds sort of cliché but this album literally has something for all people to enjoy. Just when you think Octavia is all set with forming her movement, she's still recruiting. With newcomers Young V, Lady Light, Remedy and Daughters of Zion being added to this roster of dope emcees you can best believe that a "Women of Virtue" tour will be blazin' through your city in the near future and I'm speaking that by faith. Since I've been doing the dope artist of the week I've always dedicated the month of May to the women that's holdin' it down in this male driven hip hop game. So be looking out for a different female, single or group, to be highlighted every week during this month. It would be ugly as sin if I didn't kick things off by featuring the illest female movement in the game right now which is the C.F.R.N. (Christian Female Rap Network).
