After listening to her mixtape, "Rehab", I found myself constantly relapsing and repeating my personal favorite joints which are "Kim and Slim", "Blame It", "Rasheed Freestyle", "So Incredible" and "If It Wasn't". The thing I like about Christina is that she's a storyteller. When I listen to some of the songs that I previously highlighted I find myself watching the short movie in my head which means she can clearly shoot multiple music videos for these songs. Her delivery isn't monotone meaning she doesn't sound the same on each track. It's not a huge difference between each song but I like the way she rides each track like the dopest surfer controlling the waves on the pacific coast. I also gotta give big ups to Phien for not shadowing Christina and letting her display her skills all by herself so we can see if she can really hold her own without a million guest features all over the mixtape. You rarely see a female emcee take a whole mixtape to the head like Christina does on "Rehab". I have to say that I'm sold on homegirl. Even though Mia X, Amil, and Ms. Melody may have fell off the face of the earth I think Christina is a dope emcee that will stand the test of time and has a bright future ahead of her. Music
Whenever a new crew sprouts up in hip hop ever so often they may have a female in the click that can handle her business and show that she deserves to be amongst her lyrical brethren. You have Ms. Melody who rolled with KRS ONE and BDP, Shawna and Ludacris' Disturbing the Peace crew, Amil and the infamous Roc-a-Fella camp, Trina and the Slip-N-Slide crew and of course Mia X and the No Limit Soldiers. Well recently an emcee by the name of Phien came on the scene with his bangin' hit, "House of Pain", and he didn't come alone. With the release of his mixtape, "Detox", we were also blessed with the additional downloads from his Life Music crew, Christina Faith and Logic Da Beatman. Since I'm highlighting all females this month I got exposed to Christina Faith at the right time.
